Jakarta - Bogor Discusses Cooperation in Transportation Sector

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono met with Bogor Mayor, Bima Arya Sugiarto and his staff at Jakarta City Hall, Thursday (5/4).

On that ocassion, thr Acting Governor accompanied by City Secretary Joko Agus Setyoni and Transportation Agency Head Syafrin Liputo, discussed plans for cooperation in the transportation sector to facilitate residents' mobility.

"Today, I had guests from Bogor Mayor and we discussed several things related to transportation. We have discussed if there is congestion (traffic) in Bogor, it will be facilitated to be able to enter Jakarta using Transjakarta bus," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

PT Transjakarta would also hold further discussions with Perumda Trans Pakuan owned by Bogor City administration's BUMD to determine a bright spot for coordinating the movement of residents' mobility from the two areas. It was expected to boost the connectivity of Jakarta and Bogor, considering that the capacity of existing modes of transportation such as commuter trains is still limited and many people still use the Jagorawi toll road, so if supported by the provision of bus connections, it will be very effective.

"In this discussion, there is an additional route service (Trans Pakuan) from Bogor to Cibubur (Jakarta). So far, we are processing the permit to Greater Jakarta Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ)," he explained.

Bogor Mayor, Bima Arya Sugiarto stated that his party agreed with the plan and would follow up with a more technical process.

"We agreed to discuss the technicalities, the procedures and also the issues that will be raised will later be passed on to the technical committee," he explained.

He also left a message regarding the improvement of the Otista Bridge in Bogor, so it is hoped that Jakarta residents who will visit Bogor will adjust their visiting hours and pay attention to traffic diversion information.

"It will be completed in early December, there are now adjustments to heavy traffic for reducing traffic jams," he closed.
