MRT Subway Drilling Starts in August

MRT projects are still running on scheduled. PT MRT planned tunnel boring machines will arrive in Jakarta next April.

The machines will ready in April or May

Director of PT MRT Jakarta, Dono Boestami said, his side is still waiting for the boring machines coming in April or next May. Hopefully everything will be running on scheduled. " The machines will ready in April or May ," Dono said, at City Hall, Tuesday (3/3).

However, the process will be started next August or September. Considering, there still have some preparations such as the soil pond and the guide wall construction. The soil pond is soil placement before it is carried. Then the guide wall is for anticipating the sinkhole.

He mentioned that one of the obstacles is land acquisition. There are two locations that still haven't been acquitted yet such as Cipete station and Haji Nawi station."They are not huge though yet to construct the station. And overall it is not affecting the project." he uttered.

According to Dono, the weather is not really affecting. The projects are still running even in rainy season. So it will be right on scheduled. "It does not hamper us to keep working" he said.

Dono continued the current city budget issue is not affecting. This year, PT MRT Jakarta gained the government investment participation (PMP) amounted to Rp 4.62 trillions. "It is not affecting us (city budget issue) as the MRT funds have been set by governor regulations (pergub)," he disclosed.
