DPRD-Ahok Stuck, 2014 Budget will Become Solution

The draft budget would be issued if it goes smoothly. Afterwards, the city development can be re-continued

The 2015 City Budget (APBD) polemic between Jakarta Governor Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama with Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) continues to roll. No wonder, both sides are holding a joint meeting to find solution. If there is no solution, Jakarta government will keep using the 2014 budget. 

City Secretary, Saefullah said that all parties expected the polemic will be resolved soon thus the city development could run. He asserted, the e-budgeting system will remain be applied in accordance with governor's desire. 

Ahok Ready to Bet His Life for Budget Transparency

He continued the ministry should issue a consent decree later than March 13. And Jakarta government and legislative have 7 days to discuss it. If there is still no solution or stuck, the Governor Regulation regulating the highest amount of 2015 budget as high as 2014 budget, that is Rp 72.9 trillion, will be issued.

"The draft budget would be issued if it goes smoothly. Afterwards, the city development can be re-continued. But if it is a deadlock, the local government will send a letter to ministry containing the letter and governor make governor regulation on the use of 2014 budget with ministry agreement," explained Saefullah, in the office of Home Ministry, Jalan Merdeka Utara, Jakarta, Wednesday (3/4).

He mentioned, the city development is not affected by the 2014 budget. Because its amount is still the same, while the program must be adapted with 2015's system.

"The amount refers to last year, and its programs will be adapted," he exclaimed. 

His party also had formed a clarification team related with Jakarta budget. The team consists of some regional working units (SKPD), such as Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), Jakarta Regional Finance Management Body (BPKD), Inspectorate, assistant, and related unit.

Saefullah claimed the public service will keep ongoing, even though budget polemic happens. Yet, there are some projects delayed for a while.

"Everything is still ongoing on. But there is something that must be expedited," he uttered.
