Batavia Exposition Presents Various Cultural Arts Performances

Maritime Museum Management Unit together with Indonesia Hidden Heritage Creative Club and Senyum Museum holds an Batavia Exposition event at the Maritime Museum, Jalan Pasar Ikan, Penjaringan, North Jakarta.

It will be held from today until tomorrow

Maritimr Museum Technical Unit Head, Mis Ari said this event is filled with various kinds of arts and cultural performances such as ondel-ondel performances, musical poetry, exhibitions, and bazaars.

They are presented as a form of cultural celebration packaged in collaborative works of art between music, architecture, crafts, and culinary arts.

"It will be held from today until tomorrow," he expressed, Saturday (6/17).

It is also a step to bring a new passion for the community towards the Maritime Museum.

"The aim is to appreciate, activate, and create relevance for museums to be present in the midst of society in this new era," he expressed.

In this event, his party always synergizes with artists or other creative actors in presentingi nteresting show.

"Besides being known in Jakarta, it will also be known on the international stage," he explained.

North Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-agency Head, Shinta Nindyawati positively welcomed the event which is able to attract local and foreign tourists.

"Hopefully with so many activities in cultural heritage places like this, it can increase our love for Indonesian culture," she hoped.

Selvi (27), a resident of Muara Baru admitted that she was very enthusiastic about participating in this event, as she was considered able to broaden her knowledge of Indonesian culture.

"It's very nice packed with performances by several artists. Thus making the event more colorful," she admitted.

Similar statement also came from Iyan Sunarya (22) from Kapuk Muara. He deliberately came to this event with his friends, as he wanted to

explore various cultures in Indonesia by creating content on social media.

"Cultural events like this must continue to be held, thus the young generation can participate in preserving various cultures in Indonesia," he closed.
