Policy Fest 2023, Jakarta Opens Opportunities for Cooperation in Handling Urban Issues

As part of the series of celebrations for Jakarta's 496th anniversary, a Policy Fest 2023 event is present for public policy activists. Through the synergy of Jakarta Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) with Think Policy platform, the even5lt will be held free of charge on Saturday (6/17) morning to evening at Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta.

Having an activity program like the Policy Fest itself is very useful

Particularly, it will raise 3 sub-topics namely the climate crisis, the digital economy, and social inclusion. It will invite policy makers, civil society movements, academics, and researchers, industry players, and be attended by young professionals and various elements of society.

City Secretary's Assistant for Economics and Finance, Sri Haryati also gave a speech at the opening of the event themed "Think Intergenerational: Bridging the Solutions of Today and Tomorrow".

She gave his appreciation to Think Policy which has synergized with the Jakarta Provincial Government in organizing the event.

"Having an activity program like the Policy Fest itself is very useful, not only for policy makers, but also for the community as a forum for communication with the government. Several issues raised at the Policy Fest such as the climate crisis, digital economy, and social inclusion also has a high enough urgency to help provide solutions to urban issues," she explaned.

She added the Jakarta Government had carried out several initiatives to tackle urban problems, starting from controlling emissions to addressing the ongoing climate crisis through socializing legal arrangements, imposing a coefficient of motorized vehicle tax (PKB), and implementing a parking disincentive.

"In the digital economy sector, the Jakarta Government has introduced Jakarta Open Data in 2020, where data from various regional apparatuses under the Jakarta Government is open for free to the public. Of course, it can be used positively by the community to find out the opportunities, risks, and developments of each activity, especially in the digital economy. To realize social inclusion in society, the Jakarta Government also continues to carry out annual programs, such as giving the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP), to building disability-friendly parks in various city parks," she added.

It is hoped that the Policy Fest series could run smoothly and could open up opportunities to synergize with external parties to create a positive situation or environment in Jakarta.
