The Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises Agency (PPKUKM) cooperates with Trade Ministry to open Ramadan Bazaar at Kalibata City Apartment.

The bazaar is held as a concrete form of the government's response

The Ramadan bazaar was opened by Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan who was also enlivened by an artist Uya Kuya.

Trade Minister, Zulkifli Hasan stated the bazaar was held to help people get staple foods at affordable prices.

"Hopefully with this bazaar, the prices of staple foods including sugar, rice, flour, and cooking oil will be controlled," he expressed.

He reminded traders who sell staple foods not to hoard goods during Ramadan and sell when prices are high.

"The government has a task force. If you are caught hoarding staple goods, you will be sanctioned," he asserted.

Jakarta PPKUKM Agency Head, Elizabeth Ratu Rante Allo explained his party is in synergy with Trade Ministry and some stakeholders in holding low-cost markets in several locations in the context of controlling regional inflation.

"The bazaar is held as a concrete form of the government's response to the increase in the price of staple foods in the market during Ramadan," she explained.

Aside that, not all Jakarta residents can afford to buy staple foods at high prices during Ramadan, so with this bazaar, people can buy them at affordable prices.

She added this bazaar will be held in four areas of the city from April 4 to 18, starting from 1 PM to 5 PM.

"We're grateful for the presence of Trade Minister at Kalibata City Ramadan Bazaar. We also thank all stakeholders who participated, I hope residents can take advantage of this bazaar momentum," she uterred.
