The Central Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency is dredging the Krukut River on Jalan Gang Lontar, RW 02, Kebon Melati Urban Village, Tanah Abang Sub-district.
It is done to accommodate rainwater in large quantities
Tanah Abang SDA Executing Unit Head, Eli Menawan Sari said the dredging was dome to drege mud and garbage in the river.
"This river that has six meters wide is dredged manually up to 50 meters long. It involves five personnel," she expressed, Saturday (7/15).

"It is done to accommodate rainwater in large quantities thus we can minimize inundation," she explained.
The work has been ongoing since July 10 and is targeted to be completed on July 23.
"The progress has touched 30 percent so far and we have managed to pick up 15 cubic meters of mud," she stated.
