Seribu Islands UKT 1 Prepares Physcal Aid for Elderly and Disabilities

The Seribu Islands Regency Technical Work Unit (UKT) 1, has prepared assistance with physical aids for the elderly and people with special needs who need them.

Hopefully, this assistance can support them in carrying out their daily activities

UKT 1 Social Division Head, Irfan Damanhuri said the assistance from Jakarta Social Agency consisted of wheelchairs, canes or walkers, to hearing aids.

"About 30 units are already available in the Regency. These physical aids are specifically for persons with disabilities and elderly for free," he expressed, Monday (7/24).

To get this aid, residents who need it can submit an application letter to the Social Agency through local sub-district. Afterwards, the submission would be verified by the Social team to see the eligibility of the recipient.

The terms and criteria for beneficiaries that must be met, namely having a resident identity, namely Jakarta KTP and family card (KK), cover letter from the urban village addressed to Social Agency Head, including groups of elderly or economically disadvantaged families.

Aside that, the applicant has never received assistance with assistive devices, has physical limitations or movement disorders or leg motor disabilities. Then, it is verified and validated properly or assessed by Social Agency officers.

"Hopefully, this aid can support them in carrying out their daily activities," he stated.
