Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono accompanied President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo to monitor the LRT Jabodebek trial, Thursday (8/3).

The group took the LRT from Harjamukti LRT Station, Depok, to Dukuh Atas LRT Station, Setiabudi, Central Jakarta.

Generally, the Acting Governor said, the LRT Jabodebek is comfortable to use where it is supported by the facilities available in this mode of transportation and other supporting infrastructure.

"Earlier I accompanied President Jokowi and several officials in the LRT Jabodebek trial. Mr. President said in general, this LRT was comfortable to use. Meanwhile, things that still need to be fixed will continue to be worked on as soon as possible," he expressed, in the Jakarta Provincial Government's press release.

Hopefully, LRT is one form of transportation that can break down congestion in Jakarta and its surroundings. Therefore, safety and comfort in riding the LRT must be tested for safety.

"This trial is very important, as people's safety and comfort must be guaranteed when the LRT Jabodebek will be fully operational," he expressed.

While in his press statement, the President hopes that the traffic jams that are often encountered from Cibubur to Jakarta and vice versa can be resolved with the presence of LRT. According to him, so far the LRT trials have been going well and comfortable. Even so, he requested that the LRT not operate in a hurry.

On the other hand, there were still several things to evaluate. Nevertheless, it was reasonable considering that the LRT is still relatively new transportation in Indonesia.

"But, once again, we have to remember, the MRT is the first time in Indonesia, the LRT is also the first time in Indonesia, the fast train is also the first time in Indonesia. So, if there are deficiencies, there are still things that need to be corrected, there are still things that need to be evaluated, I think it's normal. There must be system improvements, technical improvements, and so on," he closed.
