They will take part in various series of activities

Jakarta Disbud Head, Iwan Henry Wardhana said the Congkok PPS Team is part of the Indonesian Betawi Tradition Martial Art Association (ASTRABI). This month, the PPS Congkol team would take part in an event that aims to strengthen relations between Indonesia and Chile through martial arts and culture.

In this program, his party assigned several official teams to accompany the delegation from the Congkok PPS Team to Santiago Chile. The martial art team would introduce Betawi culture to art activists.

He hoped that it would not only enrich the understanding of martial art and Indonesian culture in the culture-loving community in Chile. But, it could also strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.

"Hopefully, the participants can bring a good name and positive sentiment to Jakartans, especially Betawi martial arts and cultural activists," he hoped.

Separately, Betawi Cultural Village Area Management Unit Head and Departure Team Coordinator, Imron Yunus added in Jakarta, there are many Betawi silat schools that have maintained their existence so far.

However, it was PPS Congkok who happened to be chosen to be a delegate for the martial art team representing Jakarta in Chile.

"Our goal in Chile is not a tour. We have a vision and mission to introduce silat as a cultural heritage," he uttered.

ASTRABI Chairman, Yusron Sjarief expressed her gratitude for all forms of support for martial art activists in Jakarta and the homeland.

"We're all proud to have had the noble task of bringing our cultural mission there," he stated.
