Seribu Islands Distributes KAJ, KPDJ, and KLJ to Six Urban Villages

The Seribu Islands Regency administration together with Jakarta Social Agency (Dinsos), distributed Jakarta Elderly Cards (KLJ), Jakarta Persons with Disabilities Cards (KPDJ), and Jakarta Children Cards (KAJ) ceremonially at Tidung Island Urban Village Office, South Seribu Islands.

Seribu Islands Regent, Junaedi said the social assistance distribution to meet basic needs was carried out simultaneously in six sub-districts with a target of 380 beneficiary families (KPM).
Of the 380 distributed, 108 families were in Tidung Island Urban Village, 33 families were in Untung Jawa Island Urban Village.

"Hopefully, this assistance can boost people's purchasing power and encourage an increase in reaching the predetermined poverty line," he said, Monday (8/7).
According to him, the poverty problem in Seribu Islands is a serious issue and an important concern. According to Central Statistics Agency (BPS) data for 2022, the poverty rate in this region is 14.11 percent of a population of around 3,670 people.
Thereby, sub-district and urban village heads were instructed to be actively supporting and monitoring the distribution of KAJ, KLJ, and KPDJ in a bid to reduce the level of poverty in Seribu Islands.
"Hopefully, the distribution process can run effectively, efficiently, and used optimally," he hoped.
Jakarta Dinsos Head, Premi Lestari explained the names of the recipients of the KLJ, KPDJ, and KAJ had been registered in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS). For names that have not been registered and are eligible to receive social assistance, data collection will be carried out again.
"We keep conducting selective field verification and validation, thus the recipients of this social assistance are right on target," he explained.
He reminded beneficiaries to use it according to their basic needs.
"Beneficiaries will receive Rp 1.8 million which will be collected from January to June. Each person gets Rp 300,000 per month," he added.
Yanto (73), a resident of RT 04/03, Tidung Island who works as a fisherman said he was happy and grateful to receive this social assistance.
"Thank God, the assistance provided was also quite a lot. this is very beneficial for my family," he stressed.
