SDA Agency Builds New Sheet Pile in Munjul Reservoir Area

The Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency is seen building a new sheet pile on a land of the Munjul Reservoir, Cipayung Sub-district, East Jakarta.
It has been ongoing since a week ago and is targeted to be completed in two weeks ahead
It is carried out to replace the sheet pile that had collapsed sometime ago.
Cipayung Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Dian Kartika explained the new sheet pile construction is executed by Jakarta SDA Agency through third party. It aims to anticipate landslides around inspection roads around the reservoir.

According to her, the sheet pile itself would have a length of 57 meters with 2.5 to 3.5 meters high. The top part would have a width of 1.6 meters and the below would have a width of 2.5 meters.
"It will be made with a three-tiered trap model with river stone material," she exclaimed.
East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar added there was also work on normalizing the carrying channel to drain water from residential areas into the reservoir area. Including building a resident hall office for silaturahmi (gathering or meeting activity) and a fence around the reservoir.
He explained the Munjul Reservoir that has 5,000 hectares wide had been normalized and has the maximum function of dealing with inundation that usually occurs in RW 04 and 05 Munjul Sub-district.
"No more inundation right now, but its reservoir should be reimproved for maximum functions," he stressed.
After it was done, it would be continued with mud dredging on the edge of the reservoir in a bid to accommodate water in large quantities.
