The East Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency deploys four personnel every day in the morning and evening to deal with traffic jams on Jalan Raya Dewi Sartika, especially in Jambul area.

Every day, during peak hours, we have four personnel on standby

Supervision and Control Division Head, Riki Erwinda said that every morning traffic jams in the area is seen on the road from Cililitan to Kampung Melayu and Kalibata. In the afternoon, the same condition is spotted in the opposite direction.

"Every day, during peak hours, we have four personnel on standby. Together with the Traffic Unit, we're still trying to overcome traffic jams in the area," he said, Wednesday (8/9).

According to him, the traffic jam on Jalan Dewi Sartika was caused by many factors, including the road is an alternative access to avoid applying the odd-even rule.

Then there was a road narrowing to Jalan Raya Kalibata, precisely ahead of the Pelangi Kalibata Bridge. Thus, the volume of vehicles is rampant than the road width, resulting in a queue of vehicles until the Cililitan intersection.

To solve it, some personnel were alerted at Jambul Junction, Cililitan Junction, and the bend towards Jalan Raya Condet.

His party also coordinated with the Traffic Control System Management Unit (UP SPLL) for Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub), regarding the time priority for traffic lights that lead from Cililitan to Kampung Melayu.
