Let's Visit Archive Collection Exhibition at Bundaran HI MRT Station

The Jakarta Library and Archives Agency held an archive collection exhibition at the Bundaran HI MRT Station, Central Jakarta.

Hope it can be a means of recreation, information, and also education

The exhibition entitled, 'Tua di Jalan' (Old on the Way) opened by Jakarta People's Welfare Assistant (Askesra), Widiyastuti will last until August 20, 2023. This exhibition is open to the public and is located outside the paid area of the Bundaran HI MRT station, thus residents can come to enjoy the collection of archives belonging to Pusip Agency.

She appreciated the holding of the archive collection exhibition at the Bundaran HI MRT Station organized by the Pusip Agency in synergy with PT MRT Jakarta.

According to him, this exhibition provides new discourse or insight to the younger generation and all parties, how to manage archives properly.

"We appreciate holding an archive collection exhibition, which is very inspiring and provides an understanding of archive management as part of preserving culture and history for the future civilization of Jakarta," she explained, Thursday (8/10).

He also hoped that similar exhibitions would roll out regularly from year to year and involve many communities in which it conveys the message that all parties care about archives as part of maintaining the city's cultural and historical civilization.

"Congratulations and success to the Jakarta Pusip Agency and MRT Jakarta for organizing this exhibition. May we always be given the convenience to innovate and be creative for a better Jakarta," he exclaimed.

Jakarta Pusip Agency Head, Firmansyah uttered the exhibition illustrated the development of Jakarta recorded in a number of Jakarta's iconic streets which indirectly illustrated the reciprocal relationship between development, urban change, and residents with the construction of roads and other facilities.

"Archives collection stored in audio and visual form depicting technological developments as well as storing historical moments is exhibited to invite residents to take a trip back and look back at how Jakarta was in the past," he added.

This moment will divide various archive collections into five different eras, namely the Batavian government, the Japanese occupation and early independence, the 1960s, the preparation of the first master plan for Jakarta, to the metropolitan era.

"Hope it can be a means of recreation, information, and also education regarding archives to the public," he hoped.
