Narrowing, Apuran River in Kalideres Needs Normalization

Condition of the Apuran River along RW 10, Kalideres Urban Village is experiencing narrowing. The river that formerly had a witdh of 7 meters, but now it only leaves 1 meter.

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, the narrowing along 300 meters is caused by dry mud and water hyacinth. 

Himawan, (51), a citizen of Merpati RT 06/10 Kalideres Urban Village stated the narrowing has been ongoing since 5 five years. Ironically, the river is never dredged by related unit. 

Opak River Needs Dredging

"Formerly, the river had a width of 7 meters and now only leaves 1 meter," he added, Sunday (3/15). 

Responding on this matter, Kalideres Sub-District Head, Yunus Burhan claimed that he will convey citizens' complaints related to the narrowing and shallowing in the river. 

"In accordance with the results of Development Planning Meeting (Musrenbang), the citizens requested the river should be normalized immediately. We also have proposed to normalize the river, which is the authority of Water Management Department," he finished.
