Here is Heru's Message at Commemoration of Indonesia Independence Day's 78th Anniversary

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono invites all components of the nation to keep fighting, moving forward and strengthening the spirit of mutual cooperation in facing various challenges in accordance with the theme of Indonesia's anniversary this time "Terus Melaju Untuk Indonesia Maju" (Keep Moving Forward Indonesia).

The priority for Jakarta's future development is to strengthen the city's role as Indonesia's Growth Center

The statement above was stated when he while serving as Inspector for Indonesia Independence Day's 78th Anniversary in the Jakarta Provincial Government which took place at Monas, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Thursday (8/17).

Accoeding to him, the spirit of gotong royong (mutual help) has proven its resilience in dealing with crisis situations.

"Starting from handling the Covid-19 pandemic to maintaining economic growth and political stability in the midst of global uncertainty," he stated.

On that occasion, the celebration of Indonesia Independence Day's 78th Anniversary is a momentum to reflect on the extent of the role of Jakarta's development in the progress of the nation and people's welfare.

Hence, the Jakarta Government should direct its focus on transforming Jakarta into a Global City, as the main node of the world economic network that has a real impact on global social and economic affairs.

"The priority for Jakarta's future development is to strengthen the city's role as Indonesia's Growth Center, in line with Cita Provinsi, Sukses Jakarta Untuk Indonesia (Province's Aspiration, Jakarta's Success for Indonesia). Through this matter, we show our commitment to support the progress of Indonesia," he explained.

He explained the role of the state civil apparatuses (ASN) under Jakarta Government played an important role in realizing Jakarta's Success. Each ASN should have a vision that was in line with the development of Jakarta and synergize to produce various innovations in managing the city and serving the community better.

He furthered the increasing competence and keeping abreast of developments in information technology must continue to be pursued, followed by the provision of professional services, discipline, and exemplary attitude in a bid to foster public confidence to participate in the development of Jakarta.

"Every action has an impact and your hard work will lead to a better future and prosperity for society," he continued.

He also urged them to maintain integrity and professionalism by being neutral ahead of the simultaneous General Elections (Pemilu) and Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) in 2024.

"Jakarta will be the center of attention as a reflection of national politics," he added.

He also prompted all elements of society to maintain a conducive situation, exercise their right to vote responsibly and avoid provocative actions that could disrupt public order. This independence day is celebrated with a spirit of unity and oneness. The independence that is commemorated today should be an encouragement to continuously contribute to the development of the nation.

"With the spirit of gotong royong, together we keep advancing for an advanced Indonesia," he closed.
