Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal Will Become Modernization Pilot

The Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal located in Ciracas, East Jakarta will be a model for the modernization of bus terminals in Indonesia by the Ministry of Transportation.

The Transportation Ministry plans to launch a pilot modernization of the terminal on September 13

Jakarta Transportation Agency's Terminal Executing Unit Head, Syamsul Mirwan said his party is continuing to make arrangements for Kampung Rambutan Terminal, one of which is by implementing online tickets at all Bus POs operating at the terminal.

"At Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal, AKAP bus service counters with online tickets have been operated, he expressed, Wednesday (8/23).

Aside that, there is the provision of self-service vending machines and online information media about the departure and arrival schedules of AKAP buses operating at Kampung Rambutan Terminal.

According to him, the modernization of the Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal is a grant from the Ministry of Transportation in collaboration with the Minister of South Jakarta Infrastructure and Transportation (MOLIT).

"The Transportation Ministry plans to launch a pilot modernization of the terminal on September 13," he explained.

Besides making arrangements, his party also made a comparative study to South Korea on July 12-18. The comparative study was attended by Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal Head, Yulza Ramadhoni and Leuwipanjang Bus Terminal Head, West Java.

He explained one of the locations visited in the comparative study was Busan Central Bus Terminal and Rest Area in Jeongan City. They also tried public transportation in South Korea.

"This is to see what functions and facilities are in the terminal and is expected to be implemented at Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal," he stated.
