Anwar: Don't Burn Trash Carelessly!

This is one of the contributors to air pollution

East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar urged all residents not to burn trash carelessly. Besides violating bylaws, it also triggers air pollution. If you still break it, you will be subject to strict sanctions.

"We again urge and remind residents not to open burning trash. This is one of the contributors to air pollution," he said, Friday (8/25).

Jakarta's Air Quality this Morning is in Medium Category

According to him, the ban on burning trash in the open has been regulated in Article 126 Paragraph e of Bylaw Number 3/2013 on Waste Management. It is prohibited, as it can cause pollution or air pollution.

He asserted if residents were found burning garbage in an open space, they would be sanctioned by undergoing speedy trials for the minor offense commonly referred to as tapering. The sanction is in the form of an administrative fine of Rp 500,000, which will be deposited into the regional treasury.

"Hopefully, all related staff will actively intensify anti-littering act (OTT) operations because violations have often occurred. This acts as a deterrent effect." he asserted.
