Personnel Stop Vehicles Failing Emissions Tests from Entering North Jakarta Mayor's Office

Some 32 joint personnel from Satpol PP and internal security (Pamdal) were deployed to block vehicles that failed the emissions test from entering the North Jakarta Mayor's office area, Monday (9/4).

This rule applies to official vehicles, private vehicles of ASNs and residents,

North Jakarta Administration's Secretariat Division Head, Toto Bondan expressed the policy of limiting access for vehicles that fail the emission test is to overcome air pollution due to vehicle exhaust gases that do not meet standards.

"This morning, starting at around 6.30 AM, we have officers on standby at two entrances, namely access at Post Gate 1 and 3," he expressed.

Vehicles Failing Emissions Tests May Not Enter North Jakarta Mayor's Office

According to him, it is done based on the registration results in the e-test application. Vehicles that are known to have failed or not undergo an emission test are immediately prohibited from entering.

As for vehicles that have been registered and have passed the emissions would be mounted with an entry sticker by officers.

"This rule applies to official vehicles, private vehicles of ASNs and residents," he added

Hopefully, for the common good, all parties could understand and support this policy of restricting access to vehicles.
