Channel Work in Tanjung Barat, Motorists Urged to Look for Alternative Routes

The Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency is increasing channel capacity and constructing sluice gates to control the flow of water in Tanjung Barat area, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.

Jakarta SDA Agency Acting Secretary, Hendri said the increase in the capacity of the channels is carried out to temporarily accommodate puddles that often hit the front of AEON Mall, Jalan Saidi, and Jalan Nangka I.

"In Tanjung Barat, there is the construction of new channels, ponds, increasing the capacity of existing channels, and installing two sluice gates on the channel on the side of Jalan TB Simatupang," he expressed, in the Jakarta Provincial Government's press release, Tuesday (9/5).

It was done starting from Indomaret Lenteng Agung to the front of the Tanjung Mas Raya Housing Complex. Even, the pond construction under the road was also carried out in front of the Aeon Mall area, and an increase in the capacity of the existing channel on Jalan Nangka Raya up to the Tanjung Barat Mas Connecting Channel Bridge.

Road users are urged to be careful and look for alternative roads to avoid traffic jams. The construction above is important to minimize the impact of inundation during the rainy season.
