September, Repairs to Four Bridges in North Jakarta Completed

The North Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency targets the repair of four bridges in two sub-districts to be fully completed in the forthcoming September.

North Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency Head, Ilham Raya explained the bridges being repaired consisted of three units in Kelapa Gading Sub-district, namely, Jalan Wesel Bridge, Jalan Giro, and Jalan Bongo, Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village. Then, another one is in Cilincing Sub-district, namely at Jalan Komplek Pemadam Kebakaran, Semper Barat Urban Village.

"Some of the work has been completed and some are still in progress, and some will be done. Repairs were carried out, as the bridge often flooded due to overflowing channels or rivers during heavy rains," he expressed, Tuesday (7/11).

Bridge Between Villages on Jalan Pulo Gundul Repaired

He explained the bridges that had been repaired was on Jalan Wesel in Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village. Work on the bridge with 6.6 meters wide has been ongoing since Friday (6/16) and was completed last Sunday (7/2).

Then repairs on Jalan Giro Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village have been ongoing since Sunday (7/2) and are still in the process of work. The bridge on Jalan Giro has three meters long and 6.6 meters wide.

Then repairs on Jalan Bongo, Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village were carried out last Saturday (7/8). Until now, the bridge with a length and width of six meters is still under construction.

Repairs were done by dismantling and rebuilding. Rebuilding the bridge using box culvert construction with concrete cast on top.

Lastly, repairs to Jalan Komplek Pemadam Kebakaran, Semper Barat Urban Village are planned to start at the end of July. It has five meters long and seven meters wide.

"We're currently coordinating the utilities around the bridge. This repair is targeted to be completed this September," he said.
