The progress has touched 75 percent

Central Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Mustajab said the two-meter-high channel repair was comducted for 200 meters. It was done, as many of the buis in the channel had broken and collapsed.

"It has been ongoing since May through 14 personnel. The progress has touched 75 percent or 150 meters long," he expressed, Monday (7/24).

It was carried out by replacing the concrete buis with an 80x80-centimeter U-ditch.

"We also deploy a wheel excavator to optimize the work," he explained.

After it was done, the sidewalk on the channel would also be repaired soon.

By repairing the channel, it could restore the original function of the channel and could accommodate more incoming water discharge.

"Hopefully, it will minimize inundation in the surrounding area, especially when it rains or overflowing water from Gresik River," he stated.
