Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency (Nakertransgi) Head, Hari Nugroho, said that the operational service car (KDO) with plate number B 9041 PSD was emitting quite a lot of smoke on the way to the workshop.

According to him, the car should be repaired immediately to meet emission standards and not contribute much to pollution.

"The car is now in the workshop. We strongly support efforts to improve air quality in Jakarta. Hence, I have instructed all KDO cars to be checked and taken to a workshop," he expressed, Monday (9/11).

His agency was committed to supporting and giving a good example for improving air quality in Jakarta.

"I've issued a circular letter asking that these vehicles must get a routine repair to avoid similar incidents. Don't be negligent until the damage gets worse. They are assets purchased using people's money so they must be looked after properly. Those who are negligent will be given sanctions," he explained.

Because of this incident, he apologized to road users and other members of the public.

"We apologize for any inconvenience caused. We have also given sanctions to them (KDO) as a deterrent effect. It won't again," he asserted.
