In an effort to stop illegal piped water connections, PT Aetra and hundreds of police officers are holding a raid in Kampung Muara Bahari or locally known as Volker, RW 13, 14, and 15, Tanjung Priok Urban Village, North Jakarta, Thursday (3/19). As a matter of fact, the site is allegedly prone to theft of water since three years.
Each month, as many as 36 thousand liters of water or worth Rp 181 million are stolen by dozens of citizens. Even, for several times, the citizens always refuse the checking from PT Aetra.

Hutasoit expressed there are two types of theft committed by citizens, namely illegal connection and consumption. Predictably, in this location, there are 34 illegal piped connections.
Chief of Detective and Criminal Unit, North Jakarta Metro Resort Police, AKBP Azhar Nugroho said 160 personnel have been deployed to monitor the raid.
"We're only monitoring the raid to prevent unwanted things," he stressed.
