Next Week, Septic Tank Construction in Pegangsaan Dua Completed

The construction of the communal and individual septic tanks located in RW 02 Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta which has been ongoing since Friday (9/8) keeps being accelerated.

It aims to support the Stop Open Defecation (BABS) movement in Jakarta

Housing and Residential Areas Planning and Monitoring Section Head, Ambia Aminullah Kamil stated that septic tank construction is part of the community action plan (CAP) program which involves many parties, starting from the government, business entities, communities, society, and mass media.

"It aims to support the Stop Open Defecation (BABS) movement in Jakarta. Our target is to complete it in two weeks," he said, Wednesday (9/13).

He explained the communal septic tank construction in collaboration with CSR PT Astra Honda Motor would accommodate the sanitation of three residents' houses, RT 04/02, while two individual septic tanks would be built in residents' houses in RT 05/02, Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village.

"They are built using Biofilter technology, so the result is minimal sludge removal and easy maintenance," he explained.

In the next year, the construction would be continued to four other RWs.

"We're targetin g areas that don't have septic tanks," he stated.
