Pusip Agency: Literacy Movement on Campus must Be More Massive

Jakarta Library and Archives Agency (Pusip) Head, Firmansyah, visited the campus library at Dian Nusantara University, Jalan Tanjung Duren Barat, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, Wednesday (9/13).

My visit today is in the context of developing libraries in universities

According to him, the comprehensive literacy movement on campuses could become even more massive. Hence, his agency was ready and committed to helping improve the quality of libraries in universities.

"My visit today is in the context of developing libraries in universities. Hopefully, the communication links from this visit will become a comprehensive literacy movement in the future," he expressed, Wednesday (9/13).

He explained his visit to the library facilities at Dian Nusantara University was an important focus because it was a reading source on campus.

"We look not just at activities alone, but the campus libraries should be a source of information that can be utilized by the campus community, including lecturers and students," he explained.

According to him, campus library activation needs to continuously be carried out and socialized considering the importance of literacy for all, including academics.

"Library facilities on campus can be used as a place for student literacy and creativity because talking about literacy is not just about reading books, but also actualization afterward," he added.

Dian Nusantara University Vice Chancellor I, Margono Sugeng appreciated the working visit conducted by the Head of Jakarta Pusip Agency.

With support and collaboration with the Pusip Agency, he hoped that the role of the library at Dian Nusantara University could be further enhanced to improve the knowledge and insight of the campus community and locals.

"We're open for residents around campus who want to seek literacy in the library. Hence, we hope that the existing collaboration with the Pusip Agency can be further strengthened," he explained.

Dian Nusantara University Library Head, Rengga Sendrian added the library had succeeded in achieving an A accreditation rating from the Pusip Agency for library facilities at three campus branches in 2022. To this day, a total of 10,000 book titles are available on three Dian Nusantara University campuses.

"One of the unique things about this campus library is that we are committed to meeting the needs of millennial users with new media through Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube," he stated.
