Acting Governor Inaugurates Operation of Communal Reservoir in Muara Baru Flats

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, inaugurated the operationalization of the Pluit Reservoir Communal Reservoir at the Pluit Muara Reservoir Flats, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Wednesday (10/4).

The reservoir was built by Perumda PAM Jaya to realize the target of 100 percent piped water service coverage by 2030 for all Jakartans and to increase the availability of clean water services throughout the Jakarta area.
He appreciated Perumda PAM Jaya's quick action in responding to residents' needs by providing clean water services through the construction of this communal reservoir.

He explained the communal reservoir's construction would keep being intensified in locations that lack clean water. It was also done to deal with the long dry season.
Peruma PAM Jaya President Director, Arief Nasruddin uttered that in total his party built four additional communal reservoirs and one portable Water Treatment Plant (IPA) with a total investment cost of approximately Rp 41 billion to improve services to 7,741 customers. Hopefully, it could bring a positive impact on piped water services for residents.
"Communal reservoirs are water reservoirs near settlements that are far from the main source of the PAM Jaya water treatment plant. The water will be pumped to residents' homes, thus customers who are at the furthest point can receive sufficient water discharge," he explained.
It was aimed at overcoming the lack of clean water in the Pluit Reservoir Flats, Elektro, Warehouse, Penjaringan Sub-district, North Jakarta, and its surroundings.
"Its construction takes three months with a water flow of 5 liters per second, a reservoir capacity of 50 cubic meters, and repair coverage for 282 customers. The water source comes from the Pejompongan 2 WTP," he explained.
Today, Perumda PAM Jaya also operationalized three other communal reservoirs in various areas of North and West Jakarta, namely Cilincing Communal Reservoir, North Jakarta; Marunda Communal Reservoir, North Jakarta; and Tamansari Communal Reservoir, West Jakarta.
"So, the total reservoirs currently being built by PAM Jaya are six communal reservoirs. Previously, a communal reservoir had been built in Marunda Kepu," he said.
