Using 2014 City Budget, Public Service Remains Smooth, Ahok Says

Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama ensured public service won’t be disturbed though City Administration is urged to use 2014 City Budget by Rp 72.9 trillion.

The most important things is no need to worry, public service won’t be disturbed

“This is the very first time in our country. We have to through this process. The most important things is no need to worry, public service won’t be disturbed,” he uttered at City Hall, Monday (3/23).

Technically, Ahok already knows that Jakarta Legislative Council refuses the 2015 city budget. Therefore, Gubernatorial Regulation to use 2014 budget will be submitted to Home Ministry today.

Legislative: We Should Issue Bylaw for 2015 City Budget

“I received a call last night, legislative refuses bylaw, whereas it is not about a political process anymore, this is an administration process,” he cleared.

According to Ahok, legislative has no authority to monitor budget if this regulation implemented. Monitoring will be conducted by the ministry.

“We are in ministry's monitoring. Citizen will be more critical now, we can only refers to the Gubernatorial Regulation to do city activities (things and service, solve city heavy congestion, flood, as well as education),” Ahok said.

Ahok mentioned, there is only a disadvantage within the regulation that is city can not using the income funds if city’s revenue is increasing. While for all rules are the same if the bylaw has issued.
