KATAR: Heru's Term of Office as Acting Governor will Be Extended

The Koalisi Rakyat Pemerhati Jakarta Baru/ Coalition of People Observing New Jakarta (KATAR) assesses that the Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono's performance results have proven to be quite good to date.

During his time as Jakarta Governor, he underwent performance evaluations at the Home Ministry (Kemendagri) three times.

KATAR Chairman, Sugiyanto said his term of office should be extended for another year. The continuation of Jakarta's priority programs was also an important reason.

He and the Jakarta DPRD had agreed on the Revised APBD 2023. They are currently also discussing the APBD 2024.

In this context, if there was a change in the Acting Governor of Jakarta, there might be changes in policy implementation.

"Hence, the continuity of the process of implementing the Revised APBD 2023 and the Pure APBD 2024 must be carefully monitored by the current governor's officials, thus maximum program achievements can still be realized," he explained, Thursday (10/12).

As for the information, the legal basis for extending Heru's term of office refers to the explanation of Article 201 paragraph (9) of Law Number 10/2016 on Second Amendment to Law Number 1/2015 on the Establishment of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 1/2014 on Election of Governors, Regents, and Mayors Become Laws.

In these regulations, it is explained that the term of office of the Acting Governor, Acting Regent, and Acting Mayor is 1 year, and can be extended for 1 year with the same or different person.

He assessedJakarta is currently still the National Capital and is faced with a number of urgent problems and priority programs that must be prioritized. Therefore, carrying out all these programs consistently is very important.

"Therefore, the decision to extend the term of office of the acting governor is an integral part of the continued implementation of Jakarta's priority programs," he added.

He was optimistic that the Home Ministry (Kemendagri) would extend the term of office of the Jakarta Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono based on the description above and considering the current situation.

"For the coming year, the position of Jakarta Acting Governor will continue to be held by the same person, namely Heru Budi Hartono," he stated.
