Acting Governor Heru Commits to Resolving Stunting in Jakarta

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono visited the Pekojan Urban Village Head's Office and witnessed feeding activities for toddlers at Pekojan 1 Community Health Center called Puskesmas, Tambora Sub-district, West Jakarta, Wednesday (10/11).

In his visit, he emphasized that the Jakarta Provincial Government was committed to solving the stunting problem in Jakarta.

"We continue to record children affected by stunting. We'll get it done soon," he said, in the Jakarta Government's press release.

Jakarta Beraksi Program Launched in Galur

Of the nine children who experienced stunting, five of them had graduated from stunting. In other words, they had been getting good nutrition, while the other four would soon follow with proper nutrition management.

“We keep providing interventions in a bid to eliminate stunting cases. One of them, twice a week, we intervene by providing nutritious food and milk," he explained.

Of the total 22,000 stunting cases in Jakarta, 9,000 of them were resolved.

"The number of nutritional insecurity numbers is 23,000 cases, and to date, there are 13,000 cases that have been completed," he explained.

Regarding handling stunting and providing additional food (PMT), the Jakarta Government continues to synergize through the Jakarta Beraksi program and coordinate with related parties to accelerate stunting reduction.

His party had also facilitated the creation of the stunting.jakarta.go.id website as a stunting dashboard. Then the function of posyandu was also pushed as a place for initial screening, monitoring the growth, and development of toddlers, as well as providing supplementary food (PMT) through community health centers and urban villages to pregnant women and toddlers.
