Seribu Islands Students Receive School Equipment Aid

The local Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) distributed school equipment packages to 189 students in Seribu Islands. The aid was dedicated to orphans in six sub-districts who are still undergoing education from PAUD to junior high school level.

This aid uses funds from volunteers, to lighten the burden on orphans in Seribu Islands

Seribu Islands PMI Chairman, Farullah said it is a form of his party's concern for students who were less fortunate and had been abandoned by their parents. The distribution of this aid has been carried out since Monday (10/16).

He hoped that these children could grow into a quality young generation who could play a role in developing the Seribu Islands region.

"This aid uses funds from volunteers, to lighten the burden on orphans in Seribu Islands," he expressed, Tuesday (10/17).

The aid packages provided included bags, notebooks, sets of pens, pencils, drawing books, and erasers.

the aid distribution was spread across Untung Jawa Island Urban Village with 26 packages, 16 packages on Pari Island, 45 packages on Tidung Island, 32 packages on Panggang Island, 39 packages on Kelapa Island, and 31 packages on Harapan Island.

"Hope it can trigger children's enthusiasm to study actively. Insya Allah, this activity will be sustainable," he hoped.

Fauzan (12), one of the grade IX students at SMPN 285 Pulau Untung Jawa admitted he was happy to receive school package aid from PMI Seribu Islands. It was very beneficial and could lighten the burden on his family.

"Thank you to PMI Seribu Islands for providing school aid, I will make the best use of it," he concluded.
