Ciracas Community Health Center Holds Mental Health Talk Show

Welcoming World Mental Health Day (HKJS), the Ciracas Sub-district Health Center, East Jakarta, held a talk show in the sub-district office hall, Wednesday (10/25). The activity carries the theme Sehat Jiwaku, Sehat Indonesiaku (My Healthy Soul, My Healthy Indonesia).

Everyone has the right to quality mental health services

The talk show opened by Ciracas Sub-district Head, Yus Wil Rasyid was participated by 100 people from urban villages, TP PKK cadres, teachers, OSIS, Health Sub-agency, Social Sub-agency, and other related units. There was also a guest star from the child idol finalist, Aneesa Nathania.

Ciracas Sub-district Head, Yus Wil Rasyid said that in society, there is currently still stigma and discrimination against patients with mental disorders and their families. It hampers social interaction in the recovery process and fulfills the patient's quality of life.

"The momentum of World Mental Health Day is to reduce social stigma towards mental disorders patients," he said.

According to him, the government has made many efforts to address people with mental disorders, including through health services and psychologist consultations.

"Everyone has the right to quality mental health services," he asserted.

Ciracas Sub-district Health Center Head, Santayana Daulay added efforts to approach access to mental health services and psychologists were a strategy for fulfilling universal human rights.

"Thus far, people have focused on physical health, even though mental health is also very important. Because there is no health without mental health," he concluded.

He urged all levels of society to take advantage of the momentum of the World Mental Health Day 2023 commemoration, as a campaign to move together to promote a human rights framework.

"This is also a strategy to help mental health problems more effectively and have a more real impact," he stated.

Abu, one of the patients who has been undergoing routine treatment since 2014 until now admitted that the service provided at the Ciracas Sub-district Health Center was very good. He felt comfortable undergoing treatment.

"Now, emotions are stable and under control. This is because we receive regular treatment every month and routine therapy at the Ciracas Sub-district Health Center," he concluded.
