Acting Governor Heru Opens HIPMI Jaya Education and Training Center

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono opened the Greater Jakarta Regional Education and Training (Diklatda) for  Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) at Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta, Friday (10/27).

According to him, Jakarta is transforming into a Global Business City. In response to this matter, many challenges must be faced, such as climate change, air pollution, and flooding.

"Jakarta's development continues to pay attention to the carrying capacity of the city and the environment. Sustainable development ensures that economic growth doesn't sacrifice the environment and quality of life for future generations. The generation after us will continue Indonesia's development in 2045," he expressed, in the Jakarta Provincial Government''s press release.

He explained leaving a livable city for future generations had become a collective task. Hence, the role of entrepreneurs is to ensure that the entire production, distribution, and consumption processes have an environmentally friendly orientation.

"Another important thing is to push business competitiveness at the global level. To become a global city, Jakarta must have at least 10 companies that are among the top 500 companies in the world," he explained.

He added downstream is one of the strategies to increase competitiveness at the global level. Downstreaming will create a multiplier effect, namely increasing the added value of products, attracting investment, absorbing labor, and ultimately encouraging economic growth. It is in line with the national strategy to improve the national economy.

"Hopefully, young entrepreneurs can adapt, create various innovations and new technologies to increase competitiveness, and minimize emissions and waste," he added.

HIPMI's General Central Executive Board (BPP) Chairman, Akbar Himawan Buchari hoped that the event went smoothly and the cadres provided a positive output for the organization.

"Our organization is a cadre organization, so this leadership training and training is one of the instruments, thus we can become leaders. Leaders who will fill posts such as company leaders, leaders in political circles, and also in the future can lead nationally," he explained,

As for the information, the event with the theme "Strategic Synergy of Jakarta Young Entrepreneurs: Looking to a Golden Indonesia 2045 Through Downstreaming and Sustainable Development" was also attended by Youth and Sports Minister, Ario Bimo Nandito Ariotedjo.
