Jakarta Gears Up to Fully Support U-17 World Cup

The Jakarta Provincial Government ensures full support for holding the U-17 World Cup at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), North Jakarta.

We have also prepared training fields at Banteng Field and Sumantri Brojonegoro

Technically, the City Secretary had issued Insekda number e-0043/2023 on support from BUMD and OPD for the implementation of the U-17 World Cup in Jakarta.

Presentation Development Division (Binpres) Head, Wisnu Dewanto said the Jakarta Government's support for holding the U-17 World Cup was adjusted to the related regional apparatus organizations (OPD) and BUMD. For instance, the Jakarta Dispora prepared a training field for the participating teams.

"Besides the two JIS training fields, we have also prepared training fields at Banteng Field and Sumantri Brojonegoro. Currently, they are also in use," he expressed, Saturday (11/11 ).

These two fields have been used by the national teams of France and the United States. During the implementation and training process of the participating teams, these two fields could not be used by the public.

Then the Education Agency gave outreach support through their social media accounts. They would also deploy 250 students in each match from 24 high schools, 14 vocational schools, as well as O2SN and ESI participants.

While the Jakarta Communication, Information, and Statistic Agency (Diskominfotik) in collaboration with Jakarta Tourisindo (Jaktour), prepared an information center for the media at the d'Arcici Hotel Sunter. This facility was to accommodate journalists who cannot be accommodated in the official JIS Stadium media center.

PT Transjakarta's Operational and Safety Director, Daud Josef ensured that his fleet was ready to provide services for people who wanted to watch the match at JIS. Then, of all the existing routes, 10 of them are routes with direct destinations to JIS, such as Tanjung Priok, Senen, Harmoni, Monas, and Papanggo.

Besides regular route, his party also prepared 35 shuttle buses to and from the parking area at JIEXPO Kemayoran. It was provided to facilitate spectators bringing vehicles and parking at JIExpo and Hall C Kemayoran.

He ensured the shuttle bus would operate every match day from 12 AM to 10 PM. It would depart every five minutes.

He went on to say that the operational hours of all Transjakarta services directly related to the U-17 World Cup 2023 in the form of shuttle buses and regular transportation with direct destination JIS would take into account the mass flow of spectators who need to be served. If it was seen that conditions require operational extension, the party would apply it as needed.

"During the event, we will continue to apply regular fares for large and medium buses. Meanwhile, shuttle buses and mikrotrans are not subject to tariffs," he closed.
