No Water Pump, Citizen Residential in Palmeriam Inundated

Flood submerged a citizen residential in RW 01 and 02 Palmeriam, Matraman, East Jakarta, after rain poured the capital and its surrounding areas on Thursday (3/26) noon. Due to this condition, Jalan Pramuka Raya also inundated as high as 50 centimeters and cause traffic congestion.

A resident of RT 01/01, Siti revealed flood came at 9 AM, and has not receded until 1 PM. “Our village is always inundated when rain happens. Whereas, the rain duration only took a little while,” she uttered.

She stated, Palmeriam is inundated due to malfunctioned water channel. Moreover, the water pump installed on Jalan Pramuka, precisely in front of Pramuka Market was already withdrawn by East Jakarta Water Management Sub-Department. “Residents hoped there is best solution,” she hoped.

Matraman Sub-District Head, Hari Nugroho expressed the flood handling in Palmeriam is actually already done, that is by sucking up water from channel and then disposed to Pramuka's connecting channel.

“We also have drained the whole micro channel in RW 01, 02, and 10. Then it will be continued with water channel suctioning in front of Pramuka Market,” disclosed Nugroho.
