The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Parekraf), invited dozens of participants from the tourism industry and creative economy to explore pieces of paradise in Seribu Islands.

This event was held to celebrate the success of the city of Jakarta in winning the award as Best Cities To Visit in 2024 according to Lonely Planet magazine.
Jakarta Parekraf Agency Head, Andhika Permata stated the participants in this activity consisted of stakeholders in the tourism industry and creative economy. This visit or family trip had the theme Discover the Seribu Islands: The Next Lonely Planet's Best Destination.

During two days, the participants were invited to take a historical and cultural tour of the Onrust, Cipir, and Kelor islands. They enjoyed the underwater beauty of the Seribu Islands and stayed at an island-based eco-resort in Laguna Village.
"This award from Lonely Planet is a momentum for the city of Jakarta to become a world destination visited by travelers, either local or foreign," he continued.
He went on to say that the Seribu Islands were already popular as a tourist destination in Indonesia. It was because this water area is in the form of exotic islands that are close to the sea and have very charming beaches.
According to him, it was in line with the government's Proud to Travel Indonesia (BBWI) program which contains the introduction of tourist destinations in Seribu Islands.
"It is hoped that more intensive promotion of local tourist destinations will increase the number of tourists," he hoped.
Marketing and Attractions Division Head, Sherly Yuliana added the Seribu Islands region offers amazing natural beauty and a variety of tourist activities.
With easy access from Jakarta, this area is an ideal place for a short weekend getaway.
"Hopefully, the Seribu Islands will advance the blue economy in Jakarta," he stated.
