North Jakarta Improves Quality of Services and Human Rights Enforcement

North Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Juaini will continue to improve the quality of services to the public and enforce the rules in accordance with applicable human rights.

We must put forward human rights rules

In enforcing the rules must prioritize persuasive steps and establish synergy and assistance with all related parties.

"We must put forward human rights rules. Keep taking persuasive steps, and establishing synergy and assistance with all parties such as National Human Rights Commission, KPAI, and others," he asserted, after he received a Charter of the City of Human Rights Care for Human Rights (HAM) 2023 from the Regional Office of the Jakarta's Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham), Tuesday (12/12).

According to him, the City of Human Rights Care City award is one of the government's efforts to increase the role and responsibility in respect, protection, fulfillment, enforcement, and promotion of human rights, especially in the regions.

"This is the result of a joint effort. But don't make us feel satisfied. This must spur to improve the quality of services and enforce the rules in accordance with applicable rules," he explained.

North Jakarta Administration City Secretary's Law Section Head, Siti Sumiyati explained that to receive an award as a city of human rights care must meet 10 indicators, that is by meeting the right to legal assistance, participating in government, the right to diversity, and pluralism.

Then meet the right to population, the right to health, the right to education, the right to work, the right to the environment is good and healthy and the right to a decent housing, and the rights of women and children

She admitted the next service target would establish cooperation with the North Jakarta Penitentiary Agency to open service space for prisoners who received parole or pure free. It aimed to facilitate their mobility to report and conduct consultations, thus there was no need to go to East Jakarta.

"We plan to take advantage of the side space of the library as a consultation room and report a parole and pure -free prisoners," she stated.
