City Wins Two Awards at Commemoration of 75th World Human Rights Day

The Jakarta Provincial Government won two awards at the 75th World Human Rights Day (HAM) Commemoration in 2023 held by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights at Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta, Sunday (12/11).

Those awards which were directly handed over by Law and Human Rights Minister, Yosanna H Laoly were namely the Regency/City for the Best Achievement in the Regency/City Care for Human Rights Program (KKPHAM) and the Provincial Government as the KKPHAM development agency.
The Provincial Government's award as the KKPHAM Development Agency was received directly by the Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono. In the meantime, the Regency/City Award for Best Achievement in the Regency/City Caring for Human Rights Program was received by East Jakarta Mayor, M Anwar.
Dukcapil Agency Wins Award from KemenkumhamThe Acting Governor appreciated the award given by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. This achievement will remind the Jakarta Government to continuously reflect human rights values and principles in implementing public services and social life in Jakarta.
"Thank you for the award. We'll be increasingly committed to respecting, protecting, promoting, upholding, and fulfilling human rights throughout the Jakarta area," he expressed.
Law and Human Rights Minister, Yosanna H Laoly explained the commemoration of World Human Rights Day has a deep meaning, namely that it is a momentum for all parties to jointly reflect on human rights principles and reflect on the journey of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. He explained, the theme for the World Human Rights Day 2023, 'Harmony in Diversity', was taken, it was deemed relevant and important.
It was because it could be a reminder of the importance of recognizing, respecting, and celebrating Indonesia's abundant diversity. He urged all parties to maintain harmony in the diversity of political views in the upcoming elections.
"One important thing to take note, promoting harmony in diversity means fighting discrimination, prejudice, intolerance, and inequality. Regarding the elections, the government is strongly committed to the success of peaceful elections and prioritizing human rights values," he explained.
On the 75th Commemoration of World Human Rights Day, he gave awards to five regencies/cities for the best achievements in the KKPHAM program, namely East Jakarta, Mojokerto, Tapin Regency, Purworejo Regency, and Tasikmalaya. As for the Provincial Government as the KKPHAM Development Agency was given the award, namely Jakarta, Banten, Bangka Belitung, Yogyakarta, and Central Java.
