62 Channels in North Jakarta Concreted Using U-Ditch

The North Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency says they have concreted channels using U-Ditch in 62 locations with a total length of 18.5 kilometers during 2023.

It aims to improve drainage quality

North Jakarta SDA Sub-agency's Development Section Head, Heria Suwandi said the work on building the channel using printed concrete had been executed in stages since the middle of last year.

"It aims to improve drainage quality to minimize the potential for inundation during the rainy season," he expressed, Saturday (1/6).

He explained the channel construction in Cilincing was focused on 18 spots with a total length of around 5,309.60 meters; 11 spots in Kelapa Gading with a total length reaching 1,777 meters, six spots in Pademangan with a total length of around 2,380.80 meters.

Then 17 spots in Tanjung Priok with a total length of 4,821.20 meters, three spots in Koja with a total length of 1,422 meters, and seven spots in Penjaringan with a total length of 2,825,40 meters.

"The U-ditch concrete used varies in size from 40x40 to 100x100 depending on road conditions," he explained.

There were also work locations including Jalan Siak, Tarumanegara, Beting Indah I, Tipar Selatan VI, Jalan Kebon Baru Metros, Life Baru Raya, Merah Jambu, Seruling, and Jalan Tifa.

"If converted to kilometers, the total development reaches around 18.5 kilometers," he stated.
