Ampiun Connecting Channel is Normalized

The ranks of Central Jakarta Water Management Sub Department normalized  the Ampiun connecting channel in Pegangsaan Urban Village, Menteng Sub District, Wednesday (4/1). Previously, Satpol PP demolished thousand of illegal buildings above the channel.

We just started the normalization after the buildings on the channel been demolished. We hoped no more flood in residence area

Based on beritajakarta.com observation, the effort has been done in RT 14/01 Pegangsaan Urban Village. The material such as mud and waste were collected to dozens of sack.

“We just started the normalization after the buildings on the channel been demolished. We hoped no more flood in residence area,” said Menteng Sub District Head, Lilik Handayani, Wednesday (4/1).

25 Illegal Buildings on the Channel Demolished

While, Head of Menteng Sub District Water Management, Aam Amarullah added such channel becomes shallow due to residents are often to littering there.

“Actually, channel been sheet pile since a long time ago, but because the residence construct the building on it then it become shallowing. Thus we can normalize it after the demolishment,” he disclosed.
