250 Stalls of Street Vendors In Tanah Abang Controlled

Satpol PP are re-intensifying the raid of street vendors in Tanah Abang area, Central Jakarta. As a result, as many as 250 stalls of street vendors transported to Satpol PP's shed in Cakung, East Jakarta using teen of trucks.

Based on beritajakarta.com observation, commonly those vendors open their stall along the roadside. Consequently, the area becomes chaotic and slum. Some locations which are being controlled such as Jalan Mas Mansyur, Jatibunder, and Jalan Jatibaru. 

Illegal, 53 Stalls on Jalan Ampera Besar Dismantled

Head of Central Jakarta Satpol PP, Yadi Rusmayadi disclosed, this raid is focused on Jalan Jatibaru 10. In this location there are 150 stalls demolished. Most of street vendor sell clothes and foods. 

"We have deployed 80 personnel to guard everyday. The socialization also has repeatedly been done, but the vendors are still opening their stall on the prohibited area," said Rusmayadi, Monday (4/6). 

In this raid, he added, his side is deploying 80 personnel. Considering many street vendors, this raid will be intensified until next week. 

"We hope this area will be sterile again. So we will keep intensifying the raid of street vendors along the sidewalk," he asserted.
