PPSU Personnel Clean Post-Puddle Garbage in Makasar

As many as 20 PPSU personnel were deployed to clean garbage and mud after inundation at RW 04, 05 and 06 or Makasar Urban Village, East Jakarta, Thursday (2/1). The inundation in the area was fully recede on Wednesday (1/31) by 8.30 PM.

Makasar Sub-district Head, Kamal Alatas, said the personnel cleaned the garbage after the Cipinang River's overflew the residential.

"We deploy PPSU personnel to clean the garbage at residential area and water channel," he said.

The garbage was temporarily collected to RW 04  dumpsite near Embrio Market. Then it will be taken to Bantar Gebang Landfill, Bekasi, West Java.

Toto, one of PPSU personnel, admitted his side brought three motorcycle carts and one car to transport the garbage.

"We started at 9 AM and completed at 11.30 AM," he stated.

Hamdan (51), one of local residents, appreciated the urban village and sub-district's effort for cleaning the area.

He explained that the water inundated the area up to 50 cm.

"Thanks God now the water has receded fully," he admitted.
