Logistical Aids Distributed to Inundation Survivors in E. Jakarta

The East Jakarta Social Sub-agency, distributed logistical assistance to residents in three sub-districts affected by inundation on Friday (2/2) evening.

The assistance provided in the form of boxes of rice, mineral water, and some cleaning equipment was distributed on Saturday (2/3).

East Jakarta Social Sub-agency Acting Head, Abdul Salam said assistance was provided to residents of Rawa Terate, Munjul, and Cipinang Muara urban villages who had submitted applications. The puddles themselves receded last night.

"This morning, we distributed 350 boxes of packaged rice meals and mineral water, to residents in RT 10/05 Rawa Terate Urban Village. Because last night they were affected by inundation and the urban village head proposed a request for this assistance," he expressed.

The next assistance given to Munjul Urban Village was 40 kilograms of rice, six boxes of instant noodles, six bottles of sweet soy sauce, six packs of cooking oil, three boxes of mineral water, 10 adult blankets, and six sarongs.

As for the Cipinang Muara Urban Village, the assistance would be in the form of 50 boxes of packaged rice meals and mineral waters. There were also 20 palm fiber brooms, 20 stick brooms, 20 dustpans, 20 bathroom brushes, 20 doormats, 10 bottles of floor freshener (Karbol), 10 pieces of floor cleaners, and 10 pell cloths.

Then Rawa Terate Urban Village, he explained, the village was inundated last night by 39 to 50 centimeters high, precisely in RT 10/05, Jalan Krama Yuda. The inundation had receded at around 10.30 PM. No evacuation at that time.

According to him, it was because of high rainfall that caused the overflowing waters from the Cakung Lama River and hit residential areas.

"Thank you for the assistance," he stressed.

He added together with the residents, he would hold cleanup action on Sunday (2/4).

"We'll collaborate with PPSU together to smoothen it," he closed.
