2,000 Police Officers to Secure Election in East Jakarta

As many as 2,000 police officers are ready to be prepared for election security in East Jakarta. They are spread in 8,812 poll stations (TPS) in 65 urban villages or 10 sub-districts.

East Jakarta Metro Resort Police Chie4lf, Com. Pol. Nicolas Ary Lilipaly said from 8,812 poll stations, there were 222 vulnerable poll stations that would be closely guarded and nine of them were also categorized as very vulnerable poll stations.

According to him, the locations of vulnerable poll stations that had been mapped could not be revealed to the public, as they were confidential. It was also to determine security measures in the field.

Besides being prone to conflict, the number of political parties would be balanced. The location had experienced conflict, was a slum area, and the community was deemed to be frequently involved in conflict.

For the sake of the success of this five-yearly democratic party, the party has also implemented 24-hour security, starting from securing election logistics in all storage warehouses in 10 sub-districts.

Kramat Jati Sub-district Panwascam Chairwoman, Umi Wastiyah uttered that in her region, there were 848 poll stations spread across seven urban villages. Of that number, 25 poll stations that are prone to flooding.

All of them are spread across the sub-districts of Dukuh, Kramat Jati, and Cawang.

"Hopefully, the weather will be clear during the voting, thus the election will run smoothly," he concluded.
