North Jakarta KPU Inaugurates 33,791 KPPS Members Simultaneously

The North Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU), inaugurated 33,791 local poll administators (KPPS) for the upcoming General Election 2024. North Jakarta KPU Acting Chairman, Abi Marullah Matuigiri explained it also confirmed that North Jakarta was ready to hold elections, starting from voting, counting votes, and so forth.
According to him, the selection of KPPS members this year was different than previous years. This year, the age of applicants was limited to 55 years and a minimum of high school graduates.
"In North Jakarta, there are 4,853 TPS. Hopefully, the election stages will run smoothly, safely, and conducively," he explained.
North Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Juaini Yusuf, congratulated the North Jakarta City KPPS members on their inauguration. This inauguration is part of a series of upcoming elections which must be conducted in accordance with the schedule set by the KPU.
"They are at the forefront of holding this year's elections safely and peacefully. This task is very difficult and requires coordination with the KPU, PPK, and PPS for preventing misunderstandings in the election," he explained.
He urged members who had been appointed to maintain their health. Moreover, considering that we have now entered the rainy season, officers must ensure that the poll station locations are safe and comfortable.
"I invite all residents registered as voters to participate in this democratic party and follow their conscience. Don't abstain. Because our choice can determine the future of the nation," he stated.
As for the information, KPPS has the following duties:
1. Announce the list of permanent voters at TPS
2. Submit the permanent voter list (DPT) to the election participant witnesses present and TPS supervisors, and in the event that the election participant does not have witnesses, the DPT must also be submitted to the election participant
3. Carry out voting and counting votes at the TPS
4. Make official reports and certificates of voting and vote counting results and must submit them to election participant witnesses, TPS, PPS, and PPK supervisors via PPS
5. Carry out other tasks assigned by the Central KPU, Provincial KPU, Regency/City KPU, PPK, and PPS in accordance with statutory regulations
6. Submit a notification letter to voters according to the DPT to exercise their voting rights
7. Carry out other duties in accordance with the provisions of statutory regulations
