12 Sex Workers Secured in East Jakarta

Joint officers secured a total of 12 sex workers (PSK) while raided around Cakung Sub-District, Saturday night (4/11) until Sunday (4/12). The officers also secured a man who suspected to perform brawl around Buaran Station.

We hope by this operation, all elements could work together in order to create a sense of security, especially in East Jakarta area

The sex workers were secured in Metro Pos area, 5 of them were secured at Pulogadung Industrial area, and 7 of them secured on Jalan Komarudin at the east side of Cacing highway.

The officers was chasing the workers who tried to flee. Moreover, some of them even jumped into the ditch to avoid the officers.

Cakung Sub-District Head, Ali Murthado said, all sex workers immediately brought into Ceger Social Institutions, Cipayung, East Jakarta. As Information, the raid is one of routine activities that aimed to eliminate social problems in East Jakarta. Furthermore, the joint officers also anticipating brawl that often occur in the area by deploying 750 joint personnel in the activity.

"We routinely hold the raid every Saturday night to prevent brawl action. Especially at the place that often used for the brawl such as in Buaran Station area," told Ali Murthado, Sunday (4/12).

East Jakarta Mayor, Bambang Musyawardhana added, the operation was initiated by Cakung Sub-District Deliberation (Muspika) that aimed to prevent brawl and robber action in the area.

"We hope by this operation, all elements could work together in order to create a sense of security, especially in East Jakarta area," he uttered.
