Farming Training Given to Cempaka Putih Residents

A city agriculture program training is given to Cempaka Putih residents, Central Jakarta. The training is hoped could stimulate them to plant vegetables by utilizing the existing lands.

Cempaka Putih Sub-District Head, Lola Lovita expressed through this farming training, residents would love to plant variety of vegetables such as water spinach, aubergine, spinach, mustard and so on. Moreover, its harvest time does not need a long time and should not be planted in a large land.
West Jakarta Applies Urban Farming System“Residents do not need have a large area, yet only utilize a paint can, a mineral water bottle, a pot, and it also avoids the use of pesticide. Within three weeks, the vegetables can be harvested,” she said, Monday (4/13).
Lovita continued, during the training, the locals are given about 200 seeds and is hoped could be planted. Thus it can also give knowledge to other people who are interested in these activities.
“We are going to do monitoring to find out the result. So, if they need vegetable or chili, they can pluck it. It's also an independent food security,” she disclosed.
