BPBD: Emergency Call 112 Still Accessible

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) ensures that the emergency call 112 remains accessible to serve the community. It also responds to the release of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) regarding the cessation of use of telecommunications numbering 2023.

Emergency call 112 is still running normally until now

The release includes a list of 19 business entities that do not have active telecommunications operation permits as a basis for using telecommunications numbering.

The Jakarta Provincial Government is included in the list with the Information Call Center Access Code numbering type for number 14050.

"From this press release, it says number 14050, so service 112 is still actively serving the community. Previously, our call center went straight to 112, never using that number," said Jakarta BPBD Executing Head, Isnawa Adji, Wednesday (2/21).

Previously, rumors circulated that the Jakarta Government's emergency call number had been revoked by the Ministry of Communication and Information. The termination of the use of telecommunications numbers was based on the results of an evaluation of the use of numbering conducted by the PPI Kominfo General Directorate on the status of telecommunications operation permits from Business Entities until the end of December 2023.

Through this release, Business Entities which currently do not have an active telecommunications operation license as a basis for using telecommunications numbering can no longer use numbering.

"No impact at all, emergency call 112 is still running normally until now," he stated.
