W. Jakarta PPKUKM Sub-agency Pushes SMEs to Have NIB

The West Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises Sub-agency (PPKUKM) keeps encouraging coached MSMEs to immediately have a Business Identification Number (NIB).

This amount is equal to 80 percent

West Jakarta PPKUKM Sub-agency Head, Iqbal Ramid said that in West Jakarta there are currently around 36,000 Jakpreneurs or SMEs assisted by the PPKUKM Sub-agency with various types of businesses such as culinary, craft, fashion, and others.

"From 2018 to 2023, as many as 28,000 out of 36,000 Jakpreneurs have NIB. This amount is equal to 80 percent," he expressed, Friday (2/23).

According to him, NIB is very important for SMEs because apart from being recognized by the state, they can also get many conveniences such as access to permits for halal products.

Aside that,  the products produced could also enter wider markets such as modern markets or retail and could get access to capital through banking.

"There is no target for proposing the NIB, but we're trying to continuously encourage SMEs to immediately manage the NIB. And it's easy to manage via smartphone by installing the OSS Indonesia application and then filling in the form listed," he said.
