68,146 Staple Food Packages Sold in Cheap Market

The cheap staple food market held by Jakarta Provincial Government keeps attracting residents and stakeholders to participate in preparing various staple food. Today, Wednesday (2/28), cheap staple food program was held at Melati Duri RPTRA, Duri Pulo, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

Acting Jakarta Governor, Heru Budi Hartono together with Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati, and Central Jakarta Mayor, Dhany Sukma monitored the program directly. Heru appreciated all stakeholder participated in the program.

"Today's program is sponsored by Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN). There are also Perumda Dharma Jaya, PT Food Station Tjipinang Jya, and Perumda Pasar Jaya. We already sold 68,146 packages since January ago," Heru said as quoted from Jakarta Provincial Government's press release.

Jakarta Provincial Government Makes Sure Cheap Market Fulfills Resident Needs

Heru assessed that this program is Jakarta Provincial Government's effort to make sure all residents get cheap staple food. Thus, a sense of justice and equality is maintained, without any commotion due to concerns about stocks of basic commodities running low.

"We'll keep hold the program until two months or ahead of Lebaran. The program should anticipate price fluctuation ahead of fasting month also," he added.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati, explained the program has been held at 69 places up to today. The were 1,818 chickens, 313 packages of meat, and 925 packages of processed chicken sold in the program.

"Up to today, we have run the program by 45 days. The program keeps attracting the residents to buy staple food in the program," she explained.

According to her, the program will not run successfully if Jakarta Provincial Government does not cooperate with stakeholders. That is why she asks stakeholders to be more actively participate to lighte n the residents' burden.

"There are 50 CSRs participated in the program. We appreciate their participation in preparing the program for the residents," she closed.
